Desserts From the Parks!

You can make them yourself at home with this new book.

Ever wonder how the Disney chefs make some of those delectable desserts you can only get at the park? Well now you can make them at home, too. At least 101 of them. Thanks to Pam Brandon and The Official Disney Parks Desserts Cookbook, authored with the help of the Disney chefs, you can bring home the magic.

And that’s what this book is. It’s a guide for home bakers to create the magic as close as possible in their own ovens. So, everything is tested in a home kitchen and every recipe is scaled down from commercial use to home use and as Pam put it, if it didn’t work, it didn’t make the book.

It’s organized by category (interestingly there is a section on drinks!) and has recipes from both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. It even has some desserts from the Disney Cruise Line and Aulani, but primarily from the two American theme parks. I love the photographic index in the back. Makes it so much easier to quickly see what the item is that they are listing. You read “Chocolate-Crusted Key Lime Pie” and then you see the pic and it clicks that this is the one from Citricos! The coolest dessert I saw in the book that I’m dying to try is the Almond-Sweet Corn Cake. Just so clever. There is so much fun in this book and so much to try. You’ll love it, especially for you big Disney fans!
