We’ve covered so much already about some of the exciting things going on at D23 Expo – from special events to panels and presentations to exclusive merchandise available only at the event. But what is actually happening on the floor of the Expo? Different divisions of the Walt Disney Company all have special sections devoted to them in the main hall, many of whom will be offering autograph signings from your favorite actors throughout the weekend. Everything from popular ABC TV shows like “Once Upon A Time” to Disney Channel shows like “The Descendents” will have stars on hand as will the Walt Disney Studios, Disney Publishing, and Disney Music Group.
Free giveaways are going to be common too. Many booths will probably offer something each day so find out from your favorites if you need to return. And Disney Channel will offer mini-concerts from many of their popular acts including a Teen Beach 2 Dance Party and performances by Sabrina Carpenter (“Girl Meets World”), Dove Cameron (“The Descendents” and “Liv and Maddie”), and Olivia Holt (“I Didn’t Do It”).
On top of that, you’ll want to visit the Disney Emporium, the area on the show floor dedicated to all merchandise Disney! From pin collectors to Vinylmation to costumes to toys, books, and games, you’ll probably find whatever you’re looking for. In addition to Disney vendors, you’ll find specialty products like Her Universe clothing from Ashley Eckstein and suitcases by American Tourister. The post office will be on hand to handle any of your shipping needs, too, in case you’ve bought more than your luggage can carry. I’m curious to see how sponsors like Target and HP are going to participate. Will New Balance offer some of their specialty shoes? If so, they are sure to go fast!
But there are a few other exhibits on the floor you should be sure to check out!

Disney Music Emporium – Disney Music Group is opening a pop-up shop for the first time at D23 Expo! In addition to having autograph signings they will also offer for sale a limited selection from their catalog of music including The Legacy Collection, Frozen: The Songs and Frozen Picture Disc, and my personal favorite a Star Wars Rebels vinyl album! What’s great about the autographs at the Disney Music Emporium are that you get a reserved space in line with the purchase of certain items – including getting to meet the songwriters from Frozen, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez! Also, they will have available for pre-order the entire Silly Symphonies collection and you’ll walk home with a special vinyl disc with your pre-order.

Disney Interactive Featuring Disney Infinity 3.0 – Play your hearts out at the Disney Interactive pavilion. Try out the new Disney Infinity 3.0 with Star Wars and Inside Out characters, AND walk away with a free Infinity 3.0 figure while supplies last. But also you can preview the much awaited Star Wars: Battlefront and experience the next level of arcade gaming with Star Wars Battle Pod. A combination of the talents between Lucasfilm and BANDAI NAMCO, Disney Interactive describes Star Wars Battle Pod as “a totally unique experience featuring a dome-shaped screen, air jets, and rumble seat.”

Walt Disney Archives Presents “Disneyland: The Exhibit” – Can’t wait to see this! A 12,000 square foot area of the floor dedicated to the legacy of Disneyland. In it, Walt Disney Archives will have on display such amazing items as Ticket No. 1 sold to Roy Disney all those years ago. The Abominable Snowman from the Matterhorn will also be watching over guests to the exhibit. And even a prototype vehicle for the Alice in Wonderland attraction. Those are just a few of the over 300 items on display to celebrate the history of Disneyland’s first 60 years.
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts: 60 Years of Innovation – The Imagineers always do a spectacular job of creating pavilions, providing insight and unique exhibits found nowhere else. This year looks to be no different. Featuring exhibits on the new Shanghai Disneyland, the guest will get to see unique glimpses and insights “into the creative process of designing and building the Shanghai Disney Resort.” The Parks and Resorts team also promises guests will “discover the tradition and innovation infused into the resort.” More than that, though, will be a peek into the new AVATAR-themed land at Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World.
