It all comes down to this.
Everything about Season 2 of Star Wars Rebels culminates in the finale episode airing tomorrow at 9pm on Disney XD. Questions will be answered and new ones will be asked, but it will be a season finale well worth watching. If you were with us when the very first episode aired, “The Siege of Lothal” you know that our band of Rebels – Hera, Kanan, Ezra, Sabine, Zeb, and Chopper – have become more directly and deeply involved in the Rebellion against the Empire (pre-episode IV for those of you who didn’t know). And you also know that the opposition just got a lot more fierce.
Darth Vader.

Even after his death his name continues to inspire fear (see The Force Awakens) and during Star Wars Rebels, he is still at the height of his power. In “The Siege of Lothal” at the beginning of Season 2, he pretty much toys with Kanan and Ezra, nearly killing them in the process. With so few Jedi and with Vader so powerful, taking on the Empire is a daunting task. Over the course of the season, we’ve seen the Rebellion grow stronger. Able warriors like Captain Rex (of Clone Wars fame) and Princess Leia have joined the effort, the fleet of Rebel ships and number of people joining up has grown, and the skills of our Rebel friends have improved. By the time we get to the season finale, Kanan is recognized as a full-fledged Jedi Knight and Ezra is developing into one as well.
And Ahsoka comes to the realization that Vader is her old master, Anakin Skywalker.
The finale will bring to a head all of these different storylines that have run through the season. Vader, the Inquisitors, Kanan and Ezra, Ahsoka, and a new player…DARTH MAUL! What in the world is Maul’s role in all this? You’ll have to see the finale to find out. You’ll also see the long-awaited battle that fans have been hoping for since Clone Wars, Darth Vader vs. Ahsoka Tano. Master vs. Apprentice. In the YouTube video produced from our Star Wars friends, we know that Ahsoka and Vader finally meet in combat. What the result will be you’ll have to watch to find out. The only thing we know for sure is that Vader doesn’t die since his death is recorded in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. So what DOES happen?
