OMG! Too. Much. Good. Stuff.
Disney Dream Store is always one of my favorite parts of D23 Expo. As a lifelong Disney fan, there is nothing more cool than going to the Expo. And nothing more cool than coming home with some unique souvenirs that shows everyone you went to the greatest Disney fan gathering ever. The Disney Dream Store has it all. Everything from unique pieces of art to limited edition pins to Expo exclusive Vinylmation, there is something fun for everyone.
With the 50th anniversary of Pirates of the Caribbean (the attraction obviously), the 40th anniversary of Space Mountain, the 35th anniversary of Epcot, and the 30th anniversary of Star Tours, there is a lot to celebrate. Also, Bambi turns 75, Oswald turns 90 and Fantasmic! turns 25. All are celebrated with some great merchandise you can take home. Perhaps my favorite is a variation of the original Star Tours – Now The Adventure Is Real poster done all in shades of grey, black, and white. Hope that will come in a shirt, too. But the Epcot Center poster featuring some of the original attractions like Food Rocks!, The Dreamfinder, and Horizons is pretty awesome.
However, some of the pieces are incredibly hard to get. Certain pieces of art are one-of-a-kind while others are highly limited. Definitely my favorite is the UP and Away piece by Dave Avanzino. At $4,500 I’m probably going to pass, but thankfully they have a print version of it for only $40. Some of the pins are hard to get like the Star Tours 30th anniversary six pin set. They offer a random selection process (RSP) for those rare items to Sorcerer’s Package guests before they go on sale to the public at the Expo. This being my first time as one, I’m very excited.
In addition to the anniversary items and the incredibly rare stuff, there are also just cool things available in the Dream Store. I was excited to see a Hipster Minnie 9″ figurine along with a Hipster Minnie print designed by Jerrod Maruyama. I know lots of people will fall for the new selection of Alex and Ani bangles coming out. And personally, I’m aiming for the new Expo poster pins featuring different aspects of the company.
Are you coming to D23 Expo 2017? What are you looking forward to the most from the Expo? Hope to see you there!
