Fans of their products know the name means quality and since 2012 it also means Disney! ALEX AND ANI bangles in particular are elegant and seemingly dainty, but are very durable for everyday wear. They are fashionable in their simplicity with a wide variety of styles featuring beloved characters and iconic quotes. My daughter and I love their jewelry and apparently so do many of you. We asked ALEX AND ANI if they would share a little bit about their Disney Collection and they were happy to oblige. Thank you so much, Brendon, for taking the time to answer a few questions about the ALEX AND ANI Disney Collection! They are so well done and include a great selection of bangle and necklace styles. What do you look for when designing a new Disney piece? What goes into the decision process?

You’re very welcome! I’m a HUGE Disney fan and relish any opportunity to talk about it. As a company, we work with Disney to determine what characters, quotes, etc. will be in a particular launch or collection. Oftentimes the jewelry aligns with a movie launch, anniversary, or particular time of year, such as our new holiday collection featuring a Mickey-shaped snowflake charm and Tinker Bell in festive attire.

Last year you allowed the Disney Parks Blog readers to choose three Disney Princess “Words Are Powerful” phrases to be released. Was that a successful campaign and will we see something similar in the future?

Yes, that was a super successful campaign! The passion of Disney fans is unmatched and we loved reading their sentiments about their favorite princesses. At this time, I don’t know of any upcoming polls, but I encourage fans to stay tuned to social media for the latest news.

What is it like working with Disney to select a new design? Are there any characters or character designs that are off limits? What is the most requested character that you haven’t put on a bangle yet?

We love working with Disney to create jewelry that fans will love. As far as most requested characters, many people ask for villains and older/less mainstream characters. You never know what the future holds!

I noticed that as more jewelry launched, some of the older pieces retired. Is that a common practice with the ALEX AND ANI line? Do you find these become even more highly collectible because of that?

Yes, as more new jewelry is released, we make room for it by retiring older styles. Every Disney fan is passionate about a certain character or characters, myself included (I LOVE Ariel), and we tend to collect everything we can with their likeness, especially if it’s due to retire.

You’ve got bangles featuring Mickey and Minnie, Disney Parks icons, the princesses, and even Star Wars. Will we see the Marvel Universe featured soon?

At this time, I do not know of any plans to include the Marvel Universe. However, that’s not to say it won’t ever happen. Stay tuned!

At the D23 Expo 2017, ALEX AND ANI sold a limited edition bangle for fans (which was beautiful, by the way). How often do you do limited edition Disney bangles and are there any upcoming that fans can look forward to?

Yes, that was our first time creating a limited edition piece for Disney and the response was overwhelming – we sold out on the first day! As far as future limited edition pieces, we’re always exploring new and exciting ways to enrich our fans’ experience with our brand.
