Limited edition takes on a whole new meaning in Disneyland Paris.
Most limited edition pins simply say 1 of 500 (or whatever the edition size is). Not in the City of Love. Each individual limited edition pin from Disneyland Paris is ACTUALLY numbered! So if you’re the type who likes to collect a specific number you are in for a challenge at this place.
Pin collecting is serious business at Disneyland Paris. It’s one of the few places left with active pin trading as a park-sponsored activity. They still have regular monthly gatherings on location (usually at one of the hotels) and if I remember correctly they have some beautiful Pin Trading Night pins made especially for the event. Cast members take part in the pin collecting fun and have special cast member pins they are allowed to wear on their costumes which only serve to make the rest of us jealous because they are so beautiful. Unfortunately, they are not allowed to trade them. Believe me, I tried.

While many of the pins on cast lanyards are the same ones available in U.S. parks, there are a number of terrific pins you can purchase that are made especially for Disneyland Paris. Everything from open edition pins celebrating the parks and the hotels to pins that celebrate Paris itself (love the character pins in the shape of the Eiffel Tower). They have pins based on the release of Disney movies and pins based on seasonal celebrations specific to the parks in Paris. They even have specially designed pins like the Jerrod Maruyama pins I found at the Disney Gallery.
The two main pin shops where you can find great LE pins are Harrington’s Fine China & Porcelains and Pueblo Trading Post. There are other locations where LE pins can be found like the Disney Gallery located in the Disney Village but those first two places are usually where the pins are first released. Like the other Disney parks, there isn’t an official place to trade pins in or out of the parks other than the pin trading events. But there are so many pins to be had, you will hardly miss it. And if you happen to be in Paris when a pin trading event happens, be sure to go and let me know how awesome it is!
