LEGO Star Wars Universe Expanding With The Freemaker Adventures

Beginning June 20th, 2016, the LEGO Star Wars Universe will grow once again with The Freemaker Adventures. A brand new series on DisneyXD brings to life the Star Wars universe through the eyes of the Freemaker siblings, Rowan, Kordi, and Zander. The three of them are scavengers who journey through the galaxy picking up parts they can use to build their own vehicles. Adopted into the family is a former battle droid from the Clone Wars named R0-GR or as the family calls him, “Roger.”

Rowan and Roger discover the Kyber Saber – according to the press release it is an “ancient artifact with a powerful connection to the Force.”

Set during the time between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, this light-hearted and funny series will explore familiar corners of the Star Wars galaxy as the Freemaker family is thrust into the ongoing conflict between the Rebels and the Empire. The role of Kordi is being voiced by former Glee alum, Vanessa Lengies (who played Sugar Motta in the show) while fans of the CW’s Arrow will recognize the voice of Zander played by Eugene Byrd who also plays John Diggle’s kid brother, Andy. Rowan, the youngest of the Freemaker siblings, is portrayed by newcomer Nicolas Cantu and “Roger” by veteran voice actor and accomplished sound editor, Nicolas Wood who is probably best known for doing the voice of General Grievous in pretty much every incarnation.

If you’ve seen any of the LEGO Star Wars Universe series, you know you are in for a treat. Witty, silly, funny and appropriate for both young and old, these animated adventures will definitely be entertaining and according to the press release promises that the Freemakers will encounter both characters and locations familiar to Star Wars fans.

From the Dad 2.0 Conference, LEGO unveils the new Freemaker Adventures set

Along with the series, a new LEGO set will be released. At the Dad 2.0 conference, LEGO displayed the new Freemaker set and it certainly looks to be fun and one of the bigger sets to build. Designed for kids age 8-14 (or any LEGO Star Wars fan like me), the set will retail at $49.99 and will debut some time in June.
