If you loved the movie, you’ll love the game even more!
Ravensburger does it again with a wonderful game that pays homage to a Disney cult classic. If you’re familiar with Hocus Pocus the movie, you’ll be pleased with all the in-game references to the film. But even if you’ve never seen the movie, you’ll love this cooperative game. A cooperative game is one where the players are all on the same side trying to accomplish a goal. In this game, they have to find a way to stop the Sanderson sisters from completing their potion. Binx the cat will help, but be careful for Winifred, Mary, and Sarah who will cast spells to stop you!

We loved playing this game. The premise was fun, especially as a family game or a game with a group of friends. You root for each other. You moan with each other. You celebrate with each other. Cooperative games done right can really make a game thrilling and fun without the competitiveness that can sometimes ruin it. And this one is done right. But don’t be fooled. Just because it’s cooperative doesn’t mean it isn’t challenging because it is. We played three times in a row – won once, lost twice, had fun three times!

The game is also well made (we’ve had some experience with games that were poorly designed and/or manufactured – what a nightmare). It’s easy to assemble, easy to put away. The artwork is fun and fits the theme perfectly. Ravensburger is known for their quality and that philosophy carries through to its games as well as its puzzles. Hocus Pocus will be one you’ll love to add to your family game nights!
